Log Gasification Boiler
The Combustion System employed in the Woody Gasification Boiler solves most of the problems associated with a conventional wood boiler. Combining wood, gas, and smoke with high temperature oxygen results in a super-hot flame in the ceramic combustion tunnel.
The gases stay in this hot, turbulent environment long enough to achieve an 85% combustion efficiency, this is what we call wood gasification. You only need to fill your boiler once a day with fuel in the winter time. Feel good about heating with wood without becoming a slave to a heater that needs a mountain of wood to keep you warm. |

Installation Conditions:
- Chimney Draught must be at least 25 pascals
- 5" Twin Walled Insulated Flue. Flue must be compliant with Building Regulations and in particular must be 1m above Apex of the roof
- Must be located on at least a 4" non-combustible base
- Must be fitted with at least a 300 litre Buffer Vessel
- 1.5 bar Safety Valve
- A mixing valve on the return

Boiler Sizing
Boiler size will be determined predominantly by the heat loss of the heated building. Heat loss can be accurately calculated by a qualified professional. Wood type may also play a part in your sizing decisions.
It is important to remember that soft woods contain lower heat value than hard woods. If you do plan to burn predominantly soft woods, consider buying a larger Solo Plus Boiler due to its larger fire box size. |

Hot Water Storage
Many Gerkros Gasification boilers are installed without additional heat storage. The Gerkros Gasification Boiler cycles on and off to maintain constant boiler temperature, and to provide the heat desired. However, greater operating flexibility and even higher efficiency can be achieved through use of heat storage.
Heat storage allows the boiler to be burned at full output until the full load of wood is consumed. When the house doesn't need all of the heat produced during this full hot burn, the unneeded heat will be stored for use at a later time. The Gerkros range of Dolphin Hot Water Storage Cylinders are the ideal partner for your Gasification Boiler.
